I really have been here all year.
I don't quite know what happened. My blogging mojo just went poof. Some friends coaxed me into starting some projects on Flickr, namely the YIP (year in pictures) and 365 (a self portrait a day for a year- I just hit day 100). Somehow, that seemed more manageable- blogging snippet-style. I certainly put more of my face into it than I ever had here on the blog.
So for those of you not on Flickr- hi! That's me. And you thought I was just a chin.
I've also been knitting. Really! Some fun test-knitting for Kirsten, a blanket here and there. Here's a brief recap in pictures.

I don't know what it is that's got my mojo pumping again. Maybe it's that I turn 35 on Tuesday. Maybe my writerly self needed a year to, I dunno, watch "Battlestar" and read Buffy comics and just not have to think in essays. But the thing is, I like thinking in essays. So I need a vacation from my vacation.
It's time to come home.
