thanks for verbalizing what we all know - that if we were all aware of those closest to us there would be no need for ribbons and pins. I used the pattern last year to knit a hat for my BF SIL out of baby alpaca - it wasn't a perfect fit - I was a really new knitter then and when it was breezy it tended to slip off her head but she's still able to wear it now that her hair is back. Again thanks for sharing.
